Of course I'd like to add both an RSS aggregator type and a display portlet, so that I can create a simple news page for departments, but even better, I'd like Profiles to have fields for social media memberships such as Twitter, Delicious, LinkedIn, Flickr and individual blogs.
THEN wouldn't it be great, when looking at a Profile if I could see recent items they've tweeted about, bookmarked or written elsewhere. ( If there's an issue with storage merely keeping the most recent N items would be enough for starters )

I know that ie is the shittiest browser ever. Sadly but ~80% of all still use it.

Have you tried to optimize a code for ie? I don't mean ie fixes, I mean speed.
Thing is, in ie cynin works really slow. Maybe you know more, but seems like problems are in JS, because the whole page loads withing seconds (very fast), but then loading bar of ie shows that ~90% left. After that it loads these 90% for 10-30 seconds and then everything wakes up. During this long periond nothing is clickable.
Also usually left menu works sluggish. Sub-menus can't open sometimes. On mouse over the item - they blink like crazy. Sometimes you click on something and "browser" freezes and should be restarted.
Yes, I use ie8 in compatibility mode and ie7 separately. And server config is MORE than cynin minimal requerments.
I would just use FF (I love it). But those users who cannot install themselves a normal browser and a bit far from computers - can't. Sadly but this actually is the only one problem we have for using this system. (((

everythingability Collections question: Many of the default types have a "location" property and yet I was unable to create a collection that listed items by it (location seems to refer to the path the object in the ZODB). I am thinking that this would be a great way for me to handle our unusual room names.

everythingability Feature request: Whilst Cyn.in improves on many aspects of wiki editing, one thing I'd quite like was an "automatic replace" where certain text items (stored in a simple taxonomy) such as room names (ATB201, VC011) or user ids (tas509, dps4 etc) could be replaced with links to a page about that thing.

I've created an "events crawler" and want to programmatically add these events to my Cyn.in install. I'm comfortable with python but not sure how to ...
a. Launch python ( i imagine I will have to do in a certain place to import the relevant libs)
b. Select a user from the ZODB
c. Create Event objects in the relevant space
... can I connect to the ZODB remotely btw?

NameError occurs when trying to build Articles from Files.
Whenever i try to build an Article from File (be it XLS, DOC or PDF) Cyn.In gives me an NameError:
"Exception Type NameError
Exception Value global name 'instance' is not defined"
This happens with the latest CE of Cyn.in and Firefox 3.6. I did not test it with IE8.

Hi, how can Cyn.in be extended so that an external RSS Feed is displayed on a portlet? Whenusing Plone, it is easy to install a third-party portlet showing up RSS/Atom content that gets refreshed (pulled) every x minutes where X is configurable. Is there any way to do this in Cyn.in. To me, the ability to aggregate content from external sources is vital for content-focused sites

Dashboard Issues Questions and Update Suggestions
Hi,
Im starting to create a dashboard for my company and Ive found some frustrating limitations to the porlet system.
1) Is there a way to have the latest blog post dynamically appear on the dashboard?
Ive created a collection portlet, but it only lists the blog posts.
2) What about a dynamic image? Like an image of the day gallery?

Security/Access question: If I want to create a collection of spaces for departments, say Physics, Biology etc that are private to them. Do I have to..
a. Create the Users
b. Create Groups called PhysicsUsers and PhysicsAdmins (so they can add users)
c. Create the space and set the permissions on it to the above
...? Just checking I have the model right.
