Hello Cyn.in team,
I have a question about a legal aspect. Of course you want people like me, who want to provide your software to others in the internet, make sure to give your company and product name a special place in the application.
For example I can see your company name and product name and version on the login_form.
Please give me advices how to integrate your honor in your application which I provide to others.
Thanks

this way I know. I can change the logo and so on. My branding is done well.
Your product is released by GPL. Because of that I can download your software and I can change everything I want. This I have done. I have seen that you are using a colophon viewlet in which you integrate your branding ( cynapse and cyn.in ). On our site there is now a co branding between my company brands and your company brands. And my question is: How would you like the co branding should be. One thing which I want to change is that the version (now 3.0.5) is not published on our site. And on the way I have done this I thought: May I ask you how you would like be presented with you branding in a really big becoming website. We are using your great development and surely we want that this is honored, because our success is for a big part based on your development.
For example: Your button cyn.in Desktop oder Help-Button we do not want to show on our page, but surely we want to show that we are using the colaboration tool which is developed by Cynapse.
Hope that you understand me now and again: Your development is graet.

Thanks for your detailed explaination. All cyn.in editions, (Commercial or Free) are distributed under the GPL v3 License. ( http://www.cynapse.com/[…]/cynin-gpl-v3-open-source-license ) This allows you to change anything you want in the system, (e.g. remove the desktop client download badge or the help button) but requires all users to maintain the logos, text and links (apart from the supported browsers line) in the 'colophon viewlet' as mentioned in the attribution clause of the license.
For your co-branding purposes, you could modify the colophon viewlet and add your logo above or below the 'powered by Cyn.in' image, or any other location suitable to you. We are already planning a co branding area for all our Partners in the colophon, which should come out in the next couple of releases, but in-case your requirements are urgent, you could hack up the colophon viewlet yourself
Cynapse has an explicit requirement to retain a visible attribution in all derivatives. Hence we have moved to GPLv3 as compared to Plones GPLv2. If the Plone foundation feels that they would like Cyn.in to carry the Plone logo / branding as well, we would be glad to oblige. But until there is such an official request, it would be wrong on our part to use the Plone logo in our offerings.
