Hi, I've tried a search in the discussion and find nothing.
I'm new to cyn.in and have been trying to get a few wiki pages set up. I'm having real trouble linking to external files on our file server. I can't get the external link to work in my browsers (safari4/Firefix3 on osx10.5) file:///file server/location/location/file.abc. I can copy the link out of cyn.in and put the exact same text into the location bar and it works, it's just the browser will not open the link in the cyn.in wiki page. Any ideas?
thanks, Jim. cyn.in™ v3.1.3 free open source edition

Changing the IP address of a community edition appliance
I have to take an installation of a community edition that is placed on a subnet and have to change the IP address since we are migrating the lab to a new location and this will change the network.
Is ther some script to use to make cyn.in aware of the network change (also hostname will change)?
Thanks

gsiak Within a discussion someone ask for an information. I've found the rquired content within an object (e.g. file, video, blog etc.) in Cyn.in. Now I want to link this into a comment as answer to open discussion. How can I do this or is this the wrong way to reply to a request within a discussion?

So, I'm supposed to do evaluating of the installation procedures of different collaboration/cms software for the university I attend and work at. Someone said they had seen something called "sign in"(Found it, obviously) and that I should check it out. I'm literate but not experienced, but I decided to try my hand at getting cyn.in setup locally and giving it a test run. I don't have a spare PC for a server using the CE Appliance so I installed VirtualBox, told it I was running Ubuntu, mounted the .iso on a virtual drive and installed the software as per the tutorial. It boots and I'm greeted with the linux command prompt and can sign in as root, however trying to access the web interface nets me nothing. I'm not sure where the problem lies, whether it's win7 and virtualbox or something I messed up with the cyn.in installation. Any pointers to the right direction would be great.

Comments enabled but people cant comment.
When i publish an event or any other item, and i set permission of "Read" only to other group, the people of this group can view the event, but when they try to leave a comment in this, they cant. When an user of the event owner group try to leave a comment (events creator user), he can, normaly.

offray Problems with making content available to annonymous on one of my Cyn.in instances. I just follow the usual Manage Space -> Contents -> Change State (without selecting any content) and go to the usual page, but the only option I see "No Change" and there is not "Publish to Annonymous"... ¿what am I missing?

Hi All,

Hi All,
I am testing Cyn.in and so far I am very impressed. I have a slight problem and cannot resolve with Google which is how to correctly configure Cyn.in to work behind NAT. I am forced to use NAT due to the setup of the hosting LAN. I have port forwarded port 80 from the external address to the private host address and users can access the system.
The issue is when Cyn.in emails users with links to the host such as when performing password resets. The email invite contains a link which references the private host address and not the publicly accessible address.
I am assuming that their is a configuration option to use the external host reference in emails which is probably in a file in buildout but so far I have been unable to find it.
Any help would be appreicated.

Memory footprint of Community Edition

Memory footprint of Community Edition
Ok, so I don't know as much as I would like to about Plone (erhm, I think I would like to know more) so I am not sure if this is a Plone issue or a Cyn.in issue. I have an instance of the community edition up and running but the memory foot print is huge. Is there any way to limit or reduce this?
Thanks for help,
Kevin
