Feature request: Whilst Cyn.in improves on many aspects of wiki editing, one thing I'd quite like was an "automatic replace" where certain text items (stored in a simple taxonomy) such as room names (ATB201, VC011) or user ids (tas509, dps4 etc) could be replaced with links to a page about that thing.

Hmm... nice feature request. We'll possibly consider this in the future. This can potentially be achieved with Plone's portal_transforms for *all* content objects as well.

I can't think of any large-ish organisation that doesn't need a "DE-JARGONIZE" button... In practice it's just a taxonomy where VC011 (my room number) gets replaced with a link to a wiki page created for my room, it might have a chatroom, a map and some info on it. The only problem comes when there might be an item called BVC011 at which point some disambiguation would be needed.

It would really help (with minute taking) and in generally improving the rich linking of documents.

p.s Ideally, links generated this way should be less prominent (if shown at all) than explicitly created links
