How come the Cynapse site has navigation at the top (Products, Solutions, Downloads etc) and mine doesn't? I would have imagined there'd be a portlet to configure site wide naviagtion... but then my imagination runs wild sometimes

While there's no portlet manager there, you might be interested in looking at web_custom_header at portal_properties/cynin_properties in ZMI.
I'm a little confused about web_custom_header... you'll have to forgive me - it's my first time :)
It seems like you would create a custom template, then enter a value for the template to be called in the web_custom_header field... but I just get text back. I haven't been able to find documentation ANYWHERE about this (it's been over a week now...ugh). I really don't want to hack and slash existing templates - I'd rather add my own on top, but I'm getting desperate.
Any advice would be greatly, greatly appreciated (I'm on a tight deadline).
Thanks,
Mila
So what you want to do is to use a standard text/html editor to create the html, strip out everything at the top and bottom including the <html> and the <body> tags and only leave the content that you want to be inserted into Cyn.in. Paste the HTML into the small textbox and it will show up fine. We hope to make a setting for this in the Admin Control panel someday really soon now, until then please bear with this painful UI along with the rest of us.
I'm reverting my install now that I've done some experimenting... time to do it 'for real' this time :)
Many thanks!!!
Mila
